Here it is. Yes it is a lot but we are thorough and you’d want us to be.
About the program
The CO.STARTERS for Causes program is designed for any person or team with an idea for bettering the community or environment. You will determine the viability of their concept and the work on the critical next steps for getting your for profit or not for profit underway. Participants may have a new idea for a project, nonprofit, or socially minded business – or may be an existing organisation looking to become more sustainable or launch a new program.
CASE STUDIES: The case studies in the program represent two different kinds of models. One is a socially-minded business that operates just like other for-profit models. The second is a more traditional nonprofit idea looking for sustainable funding streams.
PROBLEM: In CO.STARTERS for Causes, an entire week is spent on the first three boxes of the Canvas – customer, problem, and alternatives. Many causes are started because the founder sees a need and not much time is spent looking into whether or not the need truly exists, who else is already meeting that need, and what the customer truly wants. By spending a whole week on this topic, participants are challenged to dive deeper into understanding the context.
IMPACT: Causes are causes because they are attempting to accomplish some change in the world. The program helps participants articulate what change they expect, how they will know they are accomplishing their goals, and how to measure impact.
SUSTAINABILITY: Over the past several decades, traditional funding streams for causes have undergone significant changes. In order to survive in today’s world, causes need to think differently about creating sustainable revenue streams. The program introduces participants to a variety of ways to make their causes sustainable, including building in business models.

August start $100 discount to help you get started. Price only $890.
Yes there is a cost. Your resource are high quality and the qualified mentors and advisors are paid. It normally works out to $100 plus GST per week. Total $990. So what have others done?
- Paid all themselves
- Paid by payment plan by themselves
- Have a part payment and a benefactor has part paid (this is the most common)
- Asked us to source a company or other benefactor who might part pay for them or we subsidise from our special causes fund (This is also common and one reason why we need you to complete the whole online form. )
- Asked us about who can provide a Micro-Loan (Ask us about this as we are working closely with Micro-Lenders for social enterprises right now!)
What happens next
When you complete the online form, we contact you and talk for 30 minutes about your idea.
To secure your place we ask you to pay a $50 plus GST deposit ($55) via EFT/Paypal or card on our payment page.
The mentoring begins and continues throughout the program and you become a part of the CO.STARTERS alumni afterwards.
The venue for the 9 workshops is Alphacrucis College in Woolloongabba. Free parking at the campus. In the flexible one on one mentoring option, your lead mentor and you arrange dates and times to suit you. How do you know which program to choose? Ask yourself if workshops are things you love as they are really collaborative and social and you laugh a lot while you learn a lot, or you are time poor or prefer to sit one on one or have online sessions with a mentor and maybe turn up at a few seminars that interest you like marketing ones etc. Then you know the way you are leading don’t you?
Down the track you may like help with grant applications, suggestions and recommendations for your advisory board, help with crowd funding or Intellectual Property and trade marks or patents. These are just some ways we have helped others just like you!
